Message from Mr. Kushvinder Vohra, Chairman, CWC / INCID and VP ICID

With immense pleasure & excitement, I congratulate INCID/CWC, Govt of Andhra Pradesh & ICID for this marvelous feat of organizing the 25th Congress & 74th IEC of ICID in Vizag, Andhra Pradesh. Noting unequivocal role played by Agriculture in the survival of human civilizations, the theme for 25th Congress is "Tackling Water Scarcity in Agriculture" wherein deliberations would be held among global experts from the field of irrigation & drainage.

It is a moment of great pride for India to be hosting the ICID Congress after a gap of 57 years. INCID is India's counterpart to ICID and was formed on the same day as ICID. India was the host for ICID's 1st Congress & IEC.

INCID has played a significant role in guiding India’s quest for agricultural development, irrigational infrastructure, sustainability, technology upgradation, and knowledge exchange, with its wide array of experts from various inter-related fields.

The mega event is expected to witness the participation of about 1200 global researchers & professionals, providing a great learning platform vis-a-vis the latest available technologies, promising customized solutions, new emerging issues and explore avenues for a collaborative global effort to solve the problems. The event also provides a bright opportunity for India to project its prowess to the global audience, by showcasing its advances and achievements in the sector. It is also believed to have fruitful engagement with industry experts from the sector. The event is also expected to provide a window to India in general & Andhra Pradesh in particular to exhibit rich cultural legacy and tourism avenues. The coastal city of Visakhapatnam is popular as a beautiful, clean and green city. The location along the Bay of Bengal blesses the city with a pleasing climate during the month of November.

I am sure that all our national and international delegates are going to have a wonderful learning and networking opportunity during these events. I would like to extend a warm invitation to all the prospective delegates, exhibitors, volunteers, etc. for being part of this prestigious event and help us make it a grand success.

Mr. Kushvinder Vohra
Chairman, CWC / INCID and VP ICID
